Parishioners of the Irvine Taiwanese Presbyterian Church managed to overpower the gunman and hog-tie him before police arrived. Just half an hour later, across the country, one person was killed and four others were critically injured in a shooting at a church in Laguna Woods, California. On Sunday, two people were killed and three others were injured when gunfire erupted at a flea market at around 1 p.m. Winston-Salem police said in a news release that officers responded on Sunday evening to multiple reports of gunfire at a park north of downtown. Teenager Payton Gendron, 18, has been accused of murder, with police describing the atrocity on Saturday as "racially motivated violent extremism." Police in Winston-Salem continue to investigate a series of shootings in which seven people were wounded and none of the cases are random, authorities said. The next day, 13 victims were shot, 10 of them killed, in a supermarket in Buffalo, New York.
